Our Origin Story
It started with a fifth grader and two friends.
My daughter decided to start a free after-school craft club — just her and two friends, making things together for the joy of it. Then, they opened it up to fellow 5th graders & the afterschool staff's younger kiddos also.
I stepped in as the parent volunteer and sponsor, and something clicked for me watching it unfold.
If a kid could create a welcoming, no-strings-attached space for her friends to craft and connect, why wasn't there something like that for adults in our community?
So I built it.
When I started looking for a local craft group, what I kept finding were communities that were really just storefronts — built around selling products, pushing memberships, or turning creative connection into a revenue stream.
Round Rock Craft & Chat exists because genuine connection shouldn't cost anything. No fees. No products to buy. No catch. Just people, making things, together.
This club is personally funded so that everyone — regardless of budget — has a seat at the table.
Always free
No fees, ever. We mean it. Community first.
Connection is the whole point.. Make anything. All crafts, all skill levels welcome.
No sales pitch. We're here to craft, not sell.
